Saturday night party!

A couple pictures from the past couple of days.
Our friend Jae is house-sitting a really funky house. Jes, Max, and I came over to hang out and get a tour. The previous owner had added on to the house multiple times over 30 years. At the convergence of all the additions and the original house is an odd space that was converted into a wine cellar. We accessed the space by slipping through a hole in the original foundation. Inside were all kinds of booze and oddities. Max was a little unsure of the whole thing.
It's funky but it's got great views looking out over Westchester Lagoon.
Max, Vien, Anika, and Xander had some serious bubble fun.
And Max did some yard work.
Someone's got to keep this lawn tidy.
In other news, Max got some chairs that are his size.
Yep, this blog has become a chronicle of Max's life.
It was a long weekend, little duder needs some sleep.
Until next time, cheers!

Hanging out

Last weekend we took a trip down to Girdwood for some variety.
We got breakfast at the Sitzmark with Jenna and Marika. Max spent most of his time wandering around the bar looking for a good drink.
We kicked it for a while at Jenna's family's condo. Turns out Max being cute makes Jes laugh.
Max insisted on showing Jenna how her phone works. He's helpful that way.
On Sunday evening, we were bored so we...
...put a big hole in the wall. It's part of our larger plan to renovate the kitchen. We figured the holes in the wall would motivate us to get on with it. We'll see.
I went down to Juneau again and it rained. A lot. Good news is they are putting walls on the building so it won't be so wet inside anymore.
Lately Max has been into putting things in particular places. Here he places pieces of a nesting egg toy in Jes's hands. He insisted on standing on the stairs (safe) and that Jes not move her hands (demanding). Love this dude.
Until next time, cheers!

Good old spring

The light is returning and boy is it nice. We've been keeping ourselves busy with a little bit of everything.
I went down to Juneau to check on the building. It's being built and it's going to be a nice one. While it's been a lot of work, I'm very happy to have been a part of this one.
Juneau is pretty, I kind of want to move there.
Back on the home front, Max is still ridiculously good looking. Not sure when that will ever end.
There was a nice going away party for Josh and Linsday, good times were had.
A daily moment is the above picture, Max is inside the stroller, sleeping, and I am pushing him around our neighborhood. It's nice and can make for some pretty long walks.
Relations between Max and Stanley are still cool. Both sides have tried to re-start negotiations but it's a complicated process.

We have begun the process of ensuring that Max becomes a rock climber. We consistently take him to the same play ground with the climbing wall. So far he is more interested in the giant hole in the wall than the holds. We will persist.
Gratuitous Max pictures, cheers!

Lunching, hiking, Easter'ing!

We had ourselves a nice little weekend up here but first Max wants everyone know he loves tangerines. Really loves tangerines.
Our good friends Josh and Linsday and their little girl Reid are leaving Alaska for Indianapolis. We are sad to see them go. Max and I made plans with Josh for lunch so they could get some face time in.
It went really well.

On Saturday, a couple friends and I got together for a run on the Turnagain Arm trail. With the low snow and high temperatures, the trail is in great shape for this early in the spring.
Ken and Dunny...
...enjoying the view.
Jes and friends met us at the end and we all hiked a ways. This was Max's first time in the backpack and he took to it.
He woke up and got some solid walking in.
Before we knew it Easter Sunday was upon us. We celebrated with an Easter egg hunt for Max.
He found all the eggs.
Cheers!

Happenings... more of 'em

Let's see what the Jes-Dave-Max conglomerate has been up to lately.
Our little man has begun experimenting with grown up people food. Here you can see him enjoying some risotto, asparagus, and hamburger. Or as Max defines them, 'something orange to throw on the ground,' 'something green to throw on the ground,' and 'something brownish to throw on the ground.'
But seriously, he loves food.
Max insists on coordinating his school clothes with interior finishes. Here you see him modeling his 'Where's Waldo' outfit against the stripes of the rug. He's quite dapper.
In perhaps the biggest news of the past couple weeks, Max found that weird dude who keeps following him when the sun is out. He named the weird dude 'Ernest' and I'm pretty sure they are friends now after hashing things out.
I have been running somewhat regularly lately and it's been enjoyable. A favorite run takes me along a ridgeline and then down to the ocean, well the Turnagain Arm technically but it's really the ocean. Quite a view.
Here's an extra picture of Max just cause.
Until next time, cheers!
